About The Dueling Pianos Show

Michael John has been performing in dueling piano shows all over the country for the past eight years.

Dueling pianos pits two piano players face to face in a highly interactive show. The audience fills out request forms and places them on the pianos for both players to perform.

The performers and the audience are equal partners in the show throughout the evening.

Dueling pianos combines musical ability with comedy and cheerleading skills. The performer influences the audience to sing a long at strategic points in a song giving them the opportunity to participate with the show.

The players also perform musical comedy bits for people celebrating special occasions such as birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette parties, divorces, or anything else people come up with. The players call the special individual up to the pianos and performs the bit in their honor.

There are also special group dances that are performed as well such as the Chicken Dance, Joy to the World, the Unicorn Dance, Y.M.C.A., and many others that gets the audience out of their chairs and having a great time.

The Dueling Pianos Vegas Show has been performed all across the United States.

Michael John has been a dueling piano performer since 1998. He has worked special events and clubs all over the United States. Most notably, Michael has worked in Las Vegas at the Bar At Times Square in the New York, New York Hotel and Casino for more than eight years.

Michael is most known for his high energy, audience interactive style. "I love playing songs where the audience is just as much a part of the song as I am. There is nothing like it. It’s like having two hundred of your closest friends over to your house with you leading them in their favorite songs."

Playing all over the country has given Michael the opportunity to play with some of the best performers in the dueling piano field. It also provided him the opportunity to observe a wide variety of approaches to the dueling pianos concept and he has taken the best of what he has seen in all the venues and incorporated it into his show.

"I have been so fortunate to have played with so many skilled and experienced performers, each one of them with there own unique appeal and strengths. Some have the comical thing down to a science, others can play and sing their tales off, and some know every song in the world. I have learned so much from having traveled around the country the past eight years and I hope I have passed on some of my ideas, approaches and strengths to others in this entertaining, engaging, high-energy format."

Dueling pianos requires performers to be adept at many different styles of music as well as having the ability to perform comedy bits and entertain the audience through “bringing them into the show”, rather than just performing songs. It takes a lot of training and experience to properly perform the dueling pianos concept and Michael has proven that he can deliver a high quality show night in and night out.
